Dr. Oliver C. Boone became the Executive Director of the NHSBD Hall of Fame in 2004. A former band director of over 20 years, he now serves as the Principal for Crawford County High School in Roberta, Georgia. Prior to his service at Crawford County, he served as the Principal for Lanett High School and Russell County High School in Alabama. Additionally, he served an educational administrative residency at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Dr. Boone is a nationally honored classroom teacher who has been recognized by two United States Presidents for his outstanding teaching. In 1992, Dr. Boone was installed as a member of the National High School Band Director's Hall of Fame. He has performed or studied with some of the elite personalities in the band arena including: Paul Yoder; Robert W. Smith; John M. Long; George S. Howard; William D. Revelli; Sir Vivian Dunn; David Gregory; and Al Wright.

His high school bands have been seen on every major television network including ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and C-Span. Among their performances include the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California; the Presidential Inaugural Parade in Washington, D.C.; the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. (1990 & 1995); the Blue Gray College All Star Football Classic (1990 & 1995); and three first place finishes in national competition at the National Adjudicator's Festival in Richmond, Virginia.

Dr. Boone is a member of the National Band Association, Georgia Music Educators Association, Georgia Association of Educational Leaders, National Association of Secondary School Principals, Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals, the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, Phi Delta Kappa, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Kappa Kappa Psi, the Lions Club International, and is a former advisor to the Boy Scouts of America. He has been named twice to Who's Who Among America's High School Teachers and was named with Outstanding Young Men of America. He is a published author and music composer.
