With the formulation of the High School Band Director's National Association, Inc., (HSBDNA) headquartered in Columbus, Georgia, the emergence of a valued educational service has arrived to provide opportunities to those who labor for music and its significant contributions.
It is through this vast array of contributions which music, and the education of music, portray on society that the framework for the HSBDNA is founded. Through its multiple educational divisions, a valued service and opportunity is offered to enhance wind instrumental music education. It is an enhancement that is benefited by the teachers and students of wind instrumental music education as well as our entire community, state and nation.
Additionally, the HSBDNA reaches out to provide leadership, training and scholarship for its educational endeavors to educators, students, researchers and all of those who adore the beautiful sounds generated by an American High School Band. Through its support of research, performance, teacher training, student growth and recognition with honor, the HSBDNA is a catalyst for the continued existence of a true American icon-the "High School Band". The American High School Band is a valued part of our culture and a significant and positive contributor to our society.
