Dr. Oliver BooneFounded in 2005 by Dr. Oliver Boone, the High School Band Director's National Association provides high school band directors, students and band boosters with a network of musical and educational services.

We are an advocate for the promotion of band in the educational curriculum and serve as a liaison to the community, administration, and performance aspect of the high school band director profession.

HSBDNA is a national provider for Professional Learning Units (Staff Development Credit) to renew or upgrade their teaching certificates.

Our organization offers a valuable research tool & search engine for the director, student or parent who is compelled to gain a greater understanding of the network of the American Band Movement. Members have access to research tools, business discounts and the quarterly publication offering valuable insight to the profession. We encourage and support new band literature for all levels of high school performances.

With the formulation of the High School Band Director's National Association, Inc., (HSBDNA) headquartered in Columbus, Georgia, the emergence of a valued educational service has arrived to provide opportunities to those who labor for music and its significant contributions.

It is through this vast array of contributions which music, and the education of music, portray on society that the framework for the HSBDNA is founded. Through its multiple educational divisions, a valued service and opportunity is offered to enhance wind instrumental music education. It is an enhancement that is benefited by the teachers and students of wind instrumental music education as well as our entire community, state and nation.

Additionally, the HSBDNA reaches out to provide leadership, training and scholarship for its educational endeavors to educators, students, researchers and all of those who adore the beautiful sounds generated by an American High School Band. Through its support of research, performance, teacher training, student growth and recognition with honor, the HSBDNA is a catalyst for the continued existence of a true American icon-the "High School Band". The American High School Band is a valued part of our culture and a significant and positive contributor to our society.
